Trainee Team Leader / Assembler

Major Recruitment are working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected manufacturer based in Huddersfield (HD9) to recruit a Trainee Team Leader / Assembler.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking not just for a secure and steady hands-on role, but also for long-term career development.

The successful candidate will initially work as an Assembler, while also shadowing the current Team Leader, who is set to retire at the end of the year. The intention is for the successful applicant to transition into the Team Leader/Supervisor role, making this the ideal position for someone looking to step up in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assembling metal components using hand and power tools
• Reading and interpreting basic assembly drawings
• Conducting quality checks to ensure finished parts meet specifications
• Supporting the Team Leader with coordination of daily tasks
• Learning and assisting with supervisory responsibilities including task delegation and production flow
• Working efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

What We’re Looking For:

• MUST have previous experience assembly experience.
• A good level of dexterity and attention to detail
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
• Strong communication skills and a desire to take on responsibility
• Ambition to develop into a leadership role
• Reliability and punctuality
